      Hello,

      When I look at the rank history for a particular keyword, there are missing gaps in the data. For example, the keyword was fluctuating around rank 10-20 from Jan 2022 to July 2022. Then suddenly the line on the graph disappears. It starts tracking again in Oct 2022 starting at rank 16.

      It almost appears as if Moz lost track of the keyword for some time. Other tracked keywords did not experience the same issue during this time. Then as a result, Moz reporting will say the tracked keyword moved up in ranking 40+.

      What is happening here? I'm unsure how to explain this activity to my clients.

        The presence of missing data in a Keyword Rank History chart could be attributed to several factors:

        Data Collection Issues: There might have been interruptions in the service that collects the ranking data due to technical glitches, server downtime, or connectivity problems.

        Changes in Search Engine Algorithms: Sometimes, search engines update their algorithms, which may temporarily affect the tracking tools' ability to collect accurate ranking data.

        Keyword Variability: The keywords in question might have dropped below the tracking threshold of the tool. Some tools only track up to a certain rank (e.g., top 100), and if the keyword falls below that, it may appear as missing data.

        Service Subscription Limits: Depending on the service you are using, there might be limitations based on your subscription plan which can lead to data not being collected for certain periods or for certain keywords.

        Manual Tracking Interruptions: If the data is being collected or entered manually, there might have been periods where this process was not carried out.

        To address this issue, you can take the following steps:

        Verify the tool’s operational status during the missing periods to check for any reported downtime or issues.
        Confirm your subscription plan details to ensure continuous data collection is included.
        Contact customer support for the keyword tracking tool to inquire about specific gaps in data.
        Consider using multiple keyword tracking tools to have a backup data source and cross-reference information.
        If the missing data corresponds with known search engine updates, note this in reports as a potential reason for data anomalies.
        In any case, it's important to maintain detailed records of your SEO activities, so you can cross-reference these with your keyword ranking history to better understand potential causes for any disruptions or gaps in data.

          Website Rankings Dramatically Drops in Google Search

          Local Vs Organic Search Keyword Ranking

          This isn't a question.  It's a simple suggestion that I'm hoping will inspire a change at Seomoz. I love what this site does.  What it helps us do as community.  What it helps us achieve collectively.  This suggestion is based on that love... I think we all can agree that the rankings between local reviews and organic reviews are very different beasts entirely.  They should then be treated this way within the Seomoz data with separate reports. The vast majority of reputable small businesses don't care about national rankings, but would rather get to the top of the local charts with their 5-star reviews.  Can you imagine the power of a report that is dedicated to helping you shape your client's results to achieve this? I like seeing the results of local in the keyword report, but we need a report dedicated to local search to make a difference in our rankings.  With all of the recent chatter on local search, I'm surprised this isn't already available.

          Rankings in Google.be - 3 languages

          As the site of my customers is in 3 languages, I also want to monitor the rankings in 3 languages. I do have the possibility to monitor them in seomoz: google.be english google.be dutch google.be french However, in the report (http://pro.seomoz.org/campaigns/227154/rankings) I do see the 3 columns, but the title is only google.be, WITHOUT the language selection. Not really helpfull... Any advice? oNDu9

          No data showing in SiteExplorer

          For this site: www.cooperator.biz/ I see no backlinks in SEO Moz Open SiteExplorer but Majestic SEO is showing 13 unique domains linking to it. I regularly encounter zero data for sites that I know have backlinks, why is this?  If it's a problem with crawling them, why would I continue to use SEO Moz when other SEO services are showing me links?           Page Rank is different from google search

          I use the ranking tools to check each page of our site. I use the keyword flora grand and exact url http://www.florahospitality.com/dubai-flora-grand-hotel.aspx . It return page rank 1 in US, UAE, and UK region but when I try to search it in google it doesn't appear.
