Hi there, I’m trying to understand the large discrepancy in number of links among websites. For instance, I am comparing landing pages among two different colleges. One college has over 7 million links, while the other has only 72,000 links. Meanwhile, these colleges are fairly comparable in terms of population and prestige. Could anyone help me understand why this metric is wide ranging, and how a college could have so many links? Specifically looking at total links, internal links, external links, and linking domains.

The number of links a website has can vary greatly based on various factors such as its age, popularity, content quality, online marketing efforts, and overall web presence. Here are some factors that could contribute to the large discrepancy in the number of links between the two college websites you mentioned:

Age and Online Presence: An older college website may have had more time to accumulate links compared to a newer one. Additionally, a college with a longer online presence may have built relationships and partnerships with other websites, leading to more inbound links.

Content Quality and Relevance: High-quality and relevant content tends to attract more links. If one college consistently produces valuable and informative content, it may have garnered more attention and links from other websites, including news outlets, educational platforms, and blogs.

Online Marketing and Outreach: Active online marketing strategies, such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media promotion, and guest blogging, can help a website acquire more links. A college that actively engages in these marketing efforts may have accumulated a larger number of links over time.

Digital PR and Partnerships: Collaborations with other institutions, organizations, or influential individuals can result in more links. For example, if a college collaborates with renowned professors, hosts events or conferences, or engages in research partnerships, it may receive links from associated websites.

Networking and Alumni Engagement: Colleges with a strong alumni network and active engagement may have more opportunities for backlinks from alumni websites, personal blogs, or professional networks.

Link Building Strategies: Some websites actively engage in link building efforts, which involve reaching out to other websites and requesting links. While the effectiveness and ethical implications of these strategies can vary, they can contribute to a higher number of links.

What steps should I follow after submitting disavow link list?

Hey Moz Team, This is Devesh Srivastava, you can call me Dev.
Recently there was an update from your side and that was pretty good. I have analyzed model factors regarding Moz 2.0. Though my DA score has been down to 36 from 52, I would still say that an update was really necessary. I have some questions which require some clarification or you can say a proper solution.
As of now, I have removed all the Spam links which were coming to my website (https://edugorilla.com) and I have submitted the disavow list to GSC but I would like to know how should I begin my link building strategy keep everything in mind. And now that, I have removed those spam links how would Moz or how should I tell Moz or Google that those have been removed so how soon can I get back to my previous DA score? I am very much confused with the link building strategy now. What steps should I follow after submitting a disavow list and would Moz stats will change after Google Disavowing those links? Can anyone answer my question?

What's the easiest way to see a list of domains ranking well for a keyword with its DA and traffic numbers?

Hi. I'm trying to figure out how to easily see, for a given keyword, the ranking domains, their domain authority, and their traffic. Is it possible to get this all on one screen?

Why are none of the links we've received from press and other sources from the last two months showing on our Inbound Links in OSE???

It's really hard to judge if the DA of our site according to MOZ is 1) up to date and 2) accurate when for example there are SO many inbound links still not recorded, that were published months ago.

          Identifying Recently Added Links?

Is there a way to see specifically which links were added in my campaign? I noticed that this week we have 133 new links that were added to out website, yet we lost 1 link on the root level. So I am a little confused where that is coming from. I wanted to see if I could see where. When I look at the recent inbound links in the OpenWeb explorer there isn't anything listed. Thanks!
