Duplicate content on site->citations? How important is it to change it?

Hi there,
I recently realised that the citations and directories i was building used the same content than the one on my website. I know this is not best practice. I will for sure make sure it doesn't happen in the future, but I am affraid of the ones i built in the past.
How much do you think this would affect my rankings, and do you think this is a priority to go through my citations and directories to modify it?

We recommend not having any duplicate content marketing on your website.
We had this problem with a summerhouse Bristol company, where some of the pages were duplicated, and what can happen is that this can sometimes negatively and adversely affect the organic Seo for that business, because it has duplicated text So, instead, take the time to write high-quality, unique content marketing for every page and blog post.

This is just an exemple (not really one of my clients) but lets say there is this paragraph of this web page: https://smallbusinesstaxaccountants.ca/about-us
"Small Business Tax Accountants (Canada) Inc. is quickly becoming an industry leader at accounting and bookkeeping for Canadian businesses by combining the latest templated documentation with highly qualified business professionals, in a truly unique formula!"
and on each of my citation and directory's description i am building, I am using this text as a description:
"Small Business Tax Accountants (Canada) Inc. is quickly becoming an industry leader at accounting and bookkeeping for Canadian businesses by combining the latest templated documentation with highly qualified business professionals, in a truly unique formula!"

Multiple links from a single web-site
When one good web-site (PR5) has a link to my web-site - it's great. But, if this site has a second link to my web-site from another page, is this also good? Or, let me ask in a different way, will my web-site get "double benefit" from that web-site?

Reassessing site achitecture
Firstly I'm only a recently new member but am already a big fan and rely on the tools a lot. For the sake of context, our site is www.cleancruising.com.au which we've steadily built into one of Australia's top cruise sites. We've focussed on building unique content including a mapping engine to show over 10,000 cruise routes, 3D ship models for virtual tour simulations and over 350,000 words of unique descriptive content. So we think we've got some good content which we currently rank quite well for, but think there's a lot of room for improvement with the links, both internal and inbound. Looking at the internal links, I thought the site architecture was pretty good but now I'm not so sure. The site hierarchy is like this: home > cruiseline (20) > ship (200) > itinerary page (12000) > enquiry form and home > region (25) > port (1400) > itinerary page (12000) > enquiry form My question is, am I wasting link juice by doing the following? A sample itinerary page shows lots of links through to the enquiry form (with different parameters). However years ago we added the enquiry form to be blocked via robots.txt and none of these page variations are indexed by google. Is this stuffing up the link flow, and should I allow the forms to be indexed so their links can add value back through the site? Are there any tools for visualizing a site link structure? Lots of questions and hope this is appropriate. 1am in Australia so may take a few hours before any follow up posts, cheers

Open Site Explorer Changed?
I am getting this at the bottom of Open Site Explorer. I have never seen this message before. "Why does my number of inbounds links listed not match my total links count? The listed number may be slightly different because we only show 25 links per domain (so that you see a variety). Additionally you have 18 links from no-indexed pages. Unfortunately, we can't get info for those links." Did SEOMoz change something? If I look at a site, SEOMOZ's OSE doesn't show me all the links it can find anymore? It only shows 25 max???

Are link exchanges bad for SEO these days? Also, is adding my site to free yet relevent directory sites a bad idea?
I operate a computer services company in Eugene, Oregon called "Eugene Computer Geeks". We do a lot of web design, and need incoming links to my site very badly. Lately I've been asking clients if they would link to me, but they almost always ask for a link in return. If we exchange links, does Google penalize my site? Would the incoming link be better for SEO if I'm not linking back to the other site? ALSO Is it possible that manually submitting my site to free, yet relevant web directories would hurt my rankings? It's not a big deal to me if it doesn't help my rankings, as I see a benefit to having my site listed, but wanted to make sure there wasn't a chance that it would hurt my rankings. As far as I know all the directories are free from SPAM, porn, warez, or anything like that. Thanks!

Linking to Adsense heavy sites?
Hi SEOmoz community! Hopefully a pretty straight forward question here... Does anyone know if linking to "Adsense heavy" websites can have a negative impact on your rankings? Or a positive impact even? Thes sites in particular are owned by a business aquintance, so they come from a trusted source even though the sites themselves look quite "spammy". Also they all have pagerank of 1 or 2 and there's about 100 of the sites that we would link to. Does anyone have any thoughts? Regards, Ash 🙂
