Hi, we have a company, and the business has a Google My Business and business citations created.

the manager, wants to be on first page of Google, in the organic results, for another city thats less than 10 miles away.

the business does not have two stores, just one business premises, any idea how we can improve the local/organic SEO for the second city and get on the first page of Google there as well?

Improving SEO in multiple cities simultaneously requires a strategic approach tailored to local search optimization. Here's how you can improve SEO in two cities at once:

        1. Local Keyword Research: Identify relevant keywords for each city by conducting local keyword research. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to discover keywords with local intent that are specific to each city.

        2. Localized Content: Create localized content that caters to the interests and needs of each city's audience. This could include city-specific landing pages, blog posts featuring local events or attractions, customer testimonials from each city, and localized service pages.

        3. Local Citations: Ensure your business information (name, address, phone number) is consistent and accurate across online directories, citation sites, and local business listings. Claim your Google My Business listings for each location and optimize them with accurate information, photos, and business hours.

        4. Local Link Building: Earn backlinks from local websites, directories, chambers of commerce, and local news outlets. Participate in community events, sponsor local organizations or charities, and seek opportunities for guest blogging or contributing articles to local publications.

        5. Schema Markup: Implement schema markup on your website to highlight local business information, such as address, phone number, business hours, and customer reviews. This helps search engines understand your business's location and improves visibility in local search results.

        6. Mobile Optimization: Optimize your website for mobile devices, as many local searches are performed on smartphones. Ensure your website is mobile-friendly, loads quickly, and provides a seamless user experience across all devices.

        7. Localized SEO Tags: Include city-specific keywords in your title tags, meta descriptions, headers, and image alt attributes. This helps search engines understand the geographical relevance of your content and improves its chances of ranking for local searches.

        8. Customer Reviews: Encourage satisfied customers to leave positive reviews on your Google My Business listings and other review sites. Positive reviews not only improve your business's credibility but also signal to search engines that your business is relevant and trustworthy in each city.

        9. Monitor and Analyze: Use analytics tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console to track your website's performance in each city. Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, and user engagement metrics to identify areas for improvement and adjust your SEO strategy accordingly.

By implementing these strategies consistently and monitoring your progress over time, you can improve your website's visibility and rankings in multiple cities, driving more organic traffic and leads to your business.

              Hi there SEO agency owners

              organic seo

Hi, we are slightly baffled. We have amazing backlinks and good on-site SEO, yet we don’t rank on the first page for our main keyword, “SEO Cardiff.” Now we can't understand why we are not on page one of Google for this keyword? Can someone have a look at our site and tell us why? We think we have better backlinks than some of our direct competitors that rank for this term.

              Effective Real Estate SEO Strategies

I am looking to increase organic traffic to our Real Estate website, and am  looking for any suggestions and or feedback as to strategies to implement in this area or even the must-have SEO pages every real-estate business should build. Interested in attracting sellers & buyers, but obviously would love more to attract sellers... The issue with that being you have to outrank the massive sites like Zillow and Realtor. Some ideas I have so far. Building out Neighbourhood pages to rank for people searching for 'Neighbourhood name' Any feedback on this one greatly appreciate. What's {city name} like? {Neighbourhood name} houses for sale What are good areas of {city name} Is {city name} a good place to live? What's {city name} like? What __ are in {city name} restaraunts hospitals beaches colleges How is {city names} weather Thanks guys!

Most useful things to do without developer resources on SEO

Hi fellow Moz users! I am managing SEO at our company. Perhaps some of you out there also have the problem of wanting to make SEO changes on your website but lack the developer resources to make significant changes? What are some of the things I can do in my power (can't do any backend work) to make SEO better? Currently, I have: Social media (including Moz local tips of business listings) Blog site Refining pictures Google analytics to see where we can improve Internal and external links Please feel free to expand on the above but ideally it will be new things that I could get on with! Many thanks,
              Eric

Is dynamic keyword insertion a viable local SEO tactic/strategy for your content?

Hi mozzers, I have a meeting tomorrow with the dev team to discuss about dynamic keyword insertion implementation on a new site. This site currently holds 40 geo specific microsites with several service pages each carrying unique content. These pages(about 400 pages) are seen by VP of marketing as hard to maintain and inconvenient when wanting to change content across these pages. The VP is looking to automate content as much as possible without hurting our local SEO efforts. The dev team will be asking me if dynamic keyword insertion could a viable strategy for these 40 locations without harming local SEO. Currently we have a robust local SEO strategy in place and wouldn't want to change it unless dynamic keyword insertion is a viable option and won't hurt all the seo efforts that are in place?  If this is not a viable solution, any recommendations on any other solutions we could use to satisfy the VP? If you have used DKI for your local SEO efforts, please share your thoughts and results that you have seen. Any real case scenario data/knowledge would be really helpful. Thank you!

Spaces between Letters and Numbers SEO question

This is a fun one - Example:  Mercedes Benz is pushing to have all of there vehicle models to coincide with the world branding such as the "C300" is supposed to be "C 300" and the "E300"  is supposed to be "E 300"...  I have a few issues here as when I use Voice Search for "Mercedes Benz C 300"  there is no way (that I know of) to add a space between the number and letter.  In addition, when searching for the "C 300 for sale" Google corrects the text with "Did you mean:  C300 for sale".  I am seeking a way to accommodate both versions of the models WITHOUT adding the both C300 and C 300...etc. to the text on web pages.  OR will Google eventually change the model names over time as Mercedes-Benz regulates the new U.S. naming convention.  Tough question - any thoughts? Thank you for your help -

              SEO and IP based content

Hello, We are building a guide/directory that will service multiple cities across Canada.  Currently, our home page will detect your IP, and display local content on the home page.  Although we feel this is incredibly useful to the end user, we are worried about how search engines will interpret our home page. In addition to our home page, should we have landing pages for each city that we are in? and should we follow site structure like this? www.thesite.com/vancouver So if a user from Vancouver goes to our home page, they will see Vancouver related content, but how would a search engine see the home page? We would like to know the best approach to placing well for searches in different Canadian cities. Most of our searches will be city specific: Calgary widgets, Vancouver widgets, etc. Thanks

My First SEO strategy - What's next?

I have recently embarked on an SEO strategy for my website. I've done a lot of reading and researching here on Moz and on search engine land and have got a good idea of how to build a basic SEO strategy. My own expertise is in PPC, so keyword strategy came easy to me. I rebuilt my website and focused on the on page SEO with every single page, this has brought really great results - instantly. For some of my chosen keywords I have gone from not being ranked to being on Google's first page - within a couple of days of my new website going live, for other's I've gone from being outside the top 50 to being ranked in the top 50, so my on page SEO has really strengthened my position and I now understand how important it is as a ranking factor. I've also started to create content on a regular basis with 2 or 3 new blogs being uploaded each week, the blogs are based around my businesses main target market's - PPC, Web design, digital marketing etc. These blogs have a lot of links out to good websites, EG "to learn about adwords check out the adwords fundamentals course on lynda.com" and useful info like that. I also signed up to whitespark for citation idea's so have started adding my site to all relevant directory suggestions that it gives me. So my question is this, after seeing great early results because of my on page SEO, what are my next steps to increase my rankings? And more specifically how do I use Moz to help increase my ranking? During the week, I've started using Open site explorer to find my competitors backlinks, should I now spend my time trawling through these links to find opportunities to add links for my website where I can. Is this a good thing to be doing at this stage? Anything else that I should be doing now to capitalise on my early results please let me know what it is and please tell me how to take full advantage of Moz to gain a better ranking. I appreciate all insight!
