You might not get a boost in rankings but if it is a popular article that leads to a steady stream of free referral traffic, that can be almost as sweet.

Yea pretty sure the nofollow won't give you any "juice," but being mentioned on that domain can't hurt.

I wonder why that was setup as nofollow?

Will the NoFollow link in this article help my rankings in Google?

A nofollow link will definitely not directly offer any ranking benefit in Google. If such a link offered even the slightest benefit, you would see spam on the internet increase 1000%.

The link could indirectly offer benefits which can translate into a ranking benefit. A few examples:

            • readers could follow the link to your site which generates traffic. The reader can use social sharing to talk about your site and the social sharing activity can improve your ranking.

            • readers could follow the link to your site and then bookmark, e-mail a site link, or create a link to your site and these activities can directly benefit your site's ranking.

            • a reader could visit your site by using the link and then later use a search to locate your site and visit your site via the search result. The metrics from that search result can benefit your site.

In these ways nofollow links help sites with great content where visitors desire to talk about your pages or visit them in the future.

This topic has been debated for a long time.  In general NoFollows will not help you rank in the Search Engines.  However, the second hand exposure for link opportunities is quite high, the page has had quite a lot of social shares and is on an authoritative site.

Unnatural Links To Your Site — Impacts Links warning, Should I do something?

Hi, I got: "Unnatural Links To Your Site — Impacts Links  Google has detected a pattern of unnatural artificial, deceptive, or manipulative links pointing to pages on this site. Some links may be outside of the webmaster’s control, so for this incident we are taking targeted action on the unnatural links instead of on the site’s ranking as a whole. " I don't see any dropping at rankings, could the best solution here to be, just to leave everything as it is and be more careful with the link building in the future? Or is there a danger that Google gives further penalties if I don't act on this one do something? I am little afraid that if I start removing links, my rankings will drop, even though they have remained same if don't do anything? Any help is appreciated.

Do links in hosted documents help with domain authority?

When giving presentations in our industry, we often find that the PDF or PPT document is then hosted on the origination's domain for download by event attendees. If these files have links, do they count as inbound followed links?

Links from Related Sites with Low PR or semi-related sites with High PR?

Is it better to get a link from a site with lower PR but related content or higher PR but semi-related or unrelated content? For example, if I sell shoes, would a link from a PR1 or PR2 shoe or apparel site be better or a link from PR4 website that sells books be better? I'm not talking about sites with completely unrelated content, but how relevant is PR in obtaining relevant links if I am trying to raise the PR and rankings of my own site?

High PR vs Low PR and Relative

My main question is if you had a choice between a PR 7 site and a PR 4-5 site that was relative and related to your website content, which would be a better choice? Does relativeness matter anymore?

What percentage of my links should be directory links

I feel a lot of my link building might be a bit heavy on the directory links side. Should I limit the percentage amount of links as a part of my overall link profile? If yes what percentage of links is ok to be directory links?
