SEO title tag, url
-
Hi I am launching a website that will sell initially 1 product with different colours, sayings and slogans. Is it okay to use the same keyword for the title tag and url. eg Love dog bow tie, sassy dog bow tie, I am the boss dog bow tie.
Thanks for any help.
Susan -
Yes, it is generally acceptable to use the same keyword in the title tag and URL of your website, especially if it accurately reflects the product you are selling. Using keywords in these key areas can help improve your website's search engine optimization (SEO) by making it more relevant to users searching for those specific terms.
In your example, if your website sells dog bow ties with different colors, sayings, and slogans, using keywords like "love dog bow tie," "sassy dog bow tie," or "I am the boss dog bow tie" in both the title tag and URL can help signal to search engines and users that your website offers those products.
However, it's important to ensure that your website's content is also relevant to those keywords. It's not just about including keywords in the title tag and URL, but also providing valuable and informative content related to the products you're selling. This will help improve the overall user experience and increase the chances of ranking higher in search engine results.
Additionally, keep in mind that you should strive for a concise and descriptive URL structure that is easy for users to read and understand. For example, if your website's domain is "example.com," a URL like "example.com/love-dog-bow-tie" or "example.com/sassy-dog-bow-tie" would be more user-friendly than using lengthy or cryptic URLs.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is optimizing a website to improve its visibility and ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) for relevant keywords and phrases. SEO basics involve conducting keyword research, optimizing website content and metadata, building high-quality backlinks, and improving website accessibility and user experience. It is generally recommended to use unique and descriptive titles for each page of your website to help search engines and users understand what the page is about. Using the same keyword in multiple title tags and URLs can cause confusion and make it difficult for search engines to distinguish between pages.
In your case, if all of your pages are selling dog bow ties, it might make sense to use a similar structure for the title tags and URLs, such as "Dog Bow Tie - Love", "Dog Bow Tie - Sassy", and "Dog Bow Tie - I am the Boss". However, you should still aim to make each title tag unique and descriptive so that it accurately reflects the content of the page.
You might also want to consider including additional information in the title tags and URLs to help them stand out in search results and make them more appealing to potential customers. For example, you could include information about the material, size, or style of the bow ties in the title tags and URLs.
In summary, while it's okay to use similar keywords in your title tags and URLs, it's important to make sure each one is unique and accurately reflects the content of the page.

Hi there SEO agency owners
Hi, we are slightly baffled. We have amazing backlinks and good on-site SEO, yet we don’t rank on the first page for our main keyword, “SEO Cardiff.” Now we can't understand why we are not on page one of Google for this keyword? Can someone have a look at our site and tell us why? We think we have better backlinks than some of our direct competitors that rank for this term.

Should we remove a keyword from the base URL?
We have a client that we are rebuilding their website and they are thinking about dropping one word from the current base URL. That particular word is one of the keywords we are trying to rank for. Do you think that because one of our keywords is in the current domain name that it would be a mistake to change it to just the brand name without the extra keyword added on?
