I'm finding it difficult to make a decision on keywords to select to target for new site?
-
Hi,
I'm doing keyword research for a small site and followed the standard keyword process of using Ahrefs and Google's keyword planner tools to see what keywords are being searched for my service.
There are keywords that have a higher avg monthly search volume but they are aren't as relevant as ones that include the word cheap or affordable for example but those ones are only 300 monthly searches per month which seems very small for the main page of the site.
Any advice what I should do in this scenario? Do I choose a more relevant keyword with lower search volume or go for one with much higher avg monthly search volume which is much more competitive?

more relevant keyword with lower search volume
I think the best option is to choose the more relevant keyword with lower search volume . If your site is small you must fight for that keywords. You must think on the revenue. If you can't rank for big volume keywords you must rank for low traffic keywords but keywords that convert and improve your business.

I also have this issue with my project. would you help me?

Hello, I have a similar issue with my website.
-
Hello,
I advise you to pay attention to the KD (Keyword difficulty) really good metric on Ahrefs. Also on the number of ref domains per competitors page (average) for the needed keyword. That should help you take the win-win decision.

Hi there,
I would choose more relevant keywords with lower search volume since it might be easier to rank them in a short period of time. It might take you years to get to position number 1 for high volume keywords.

How do you keep track of the keywords you're working on ?
Hello Moz community, Let's suppose you're working on a +600 pages website and you are working on lots of keywords. I'd like to know if you had a database / excel / tool to know which keywords you've been targetting so that you don't create twice the same content ? Thanks for your answers

Keyword Conundrum...
I have 3 keywords that I am targeting. Assume for the time being that they are all equally competitive. Includes local exact match monthly searches: Managed IT Services - 3600 IT Managed Services - 720 Managed IT Support - 170 They are all exactly synonymous, not to mention other keywords such as IT Managed Support, Managed IT Service, IT Managed Service, Managed IT Service Provider, etc.. My current strategy is to target the top 3 all on one page. The problem then is the title tag: Managed IT Services | IT Managed Services | Managed IT Support Pretty spammy. I could build pages for all 3, but how would I incorporate them into the website since they are all synonyms. Can I get some recommendations on how to handle this? What would you use for a title tag? How would handle separate pages with synonymous content?

Google Analytics - Long keywords
Hi All, Question for you Google Analytics pros. In the keywords section of my account I see the various words that have been used to find my site. The top entry shows a big long line of text from my site and I wondered why this appears on the keywords. e.g Lets say I had "Today I went to the shops and bought a football" In the keywords I would normally expect to see 'football', 'shops' etc but instead I am actually seeing things like " went to the shops and bought a football". What causing this? Thanks all

Effective keyword grouping - any suggestions?
I have a specific question regarding keyword grouping. Whenever I've have compiled a (long) list of keywords, I create smaller groups of keywords that can be targeted by a category or page. However, I find this to be quite labour-intensive as I'm doing this work manually through filtering in Excel. To illustrate what I mean, here's an example of a keyword list: baby shirt
Keyword Research | | DeptAgency
t-shirt for baby
pregnancy shirts
pregnancy gifts Normally I would create a list of root words, like this: baby
shirt
pregnancy
gift I would then manually filter the list on each root word and copy the filtered list to separate tabs, which would result in lists like this: baby
baby shirt
t-shirt for baby shirt
baby shirt
t-shirt for baby
pregnancy shirts etc. As you can imagine, this is a lot of work. So my hope is that you can help me out with a smart tool / Excel formula / ??? to automate this process. Thanks for any suggestions!0
