My website has many pages like this: mywebsite/company1/valuation mywebsite/company2/valuation mywebsite/company3/valuation mywebsite/company4/valuation ... These pages describe the valuation of each company. These pages were never identical but initially, I included a few generic paragraphs like what is valuation, what is a valuation model, etc... in all the pages so some parts of these pages' content were identical. Google marked many of these pages as duplicated (in Google Search Console) so I modified the content of these pages: I removed those generic paragraphs and added other information that is unique to each company. As a result, these pages are extremely different from each other now and have little similarities. Although it has been more than 1 month since I made the modification, Google still marks the majority of these pages as duplicates, even though Google has already crawled their new modified version. I wonder whether there is anything else I can do in this situation? Thanks

  • domain analysis domain authority domain migration domain

I'm looking for some advice on switching domains for my survey/giveaway website.
I purchased a website that gets around 1,500 in traffic and makes a few hundred in Adsense. The previous owner had rebranded the site and changed the domain which ended up hurting his SEO and traffic. Before that it was getting 10,000 in traffic on the old domain.
It's been a few years since the rebrand but the original domain still holds a lot of authority and got way more traffic. Should I consider switching the website back to the original domain to try to improve rankings again or should I just focus on the new domain?
The website now is snipon.com and the previous domain name was surveyh.com
I'm wondering if switching back to the original domain will still be beneficial or if it will just mess up what's happening now on the rebranded site.

Although we do all the SEO work on our website, we do not rank in the words computer repair and laptop repair, although our backlink rate is good. The address of our website is https://trueonefix.com, one of the keywords I gave to the homepage that I was really curious about, for example, computer repair, I created a page on this page ( https://trueonefix.com/computer-repair/ ), they told me it was cannibalization and I removed it, now the site is getting less rankings than before. Hi I work for a British company which has two well established websites - a .co.Uk for the UK, and a .com for the US and rest of the world (in language directories). The Uk site is hosted in the Uk, the .com in US. The websites do reasonable well in Google on both sides of the Atlantic. The company is a small but quite well known brand. The company is now thinking of redirecting the .co.Uk to the .com as it would be cheaper to maintain. What would you advise? Thanks.

Hi there, I'm new to MOZ Pro and have a question. My scan shows Archive pages as having crawl issues, but this is because Yoast is set up to block robots on these pages. Should I be allowing search engines to crawl these pages, or am I fine to leave them as I have it set up already? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this... I'm working with a client whose website is experiencing some odd organic traffic patterns. See screenshot attached. As you can see, there was a sudden cliff fall about a month ago, and then it recovered (almost) entirely. Then, a month to the day later, the same thing happened again. What is the likelihood that this is a data glitch vs an algorithm thing? Any light you can shed on this would be appreciated. Thanks,

    gift box galaxy gift box

Creating a custom gift box using MOZ's products can be a fun and thoughtful way to personalize a gift. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it, along with some creative packaging ideas: Step 1: Select the Products
Browse MOZ's product catalog and select the items you want to include in the gift box. Consider the recipient's preferences, interests, and the occasion for which you're creating the gift box. Step 2: Choose the Box
Select a Galaxy Gift Box that will fit the products comfortably. It can be a plain cardboard box or a decorative one, depending on the overall aesthetic you're aiming for. Make sure the box is sturdy enough to protect the contents. Step 3: Gather Materials
Besides the products, gather materials for packaging, such as tissue paper, bubble wrap, or shredded paper for cushioning. You'll also need ribbon, twine, or other decorative elements for the finishing touches. Step 4: Arrange the Products
Arrange the chosen products inside the anniversary gifts for men . Place larger items at the back and smaller items at the front for visibility. Ensure that the arrangement looks aesthetically pleasing and well-balanced. Step 5: Add Filler
Add your chosen filler material to protect the products during shipping and to enhance the presentation. You can use colored tissue paper, shredded paper, or bubble wrap.

Our client's Magento website has been running for at least a decade, so has a lot of old legacy categories for Brands they no longer carry. We're looking to trim down the amount of unnecessary URL Redirects in Magento, so my question is: Is there a way that is SEO efficient to setup permanent redirects at a server level (nginx) that Google will crawl to allow us at some point to delete the categories and Magento URL Redirects? If this is a good practice can you at some point then delete the server redirects as google has marked them as permanent?

    spam score

Two years ago I bought domain name aroundtheworldwithme.com as a travel blog. I built the site up slowly and currently have a DA of 28 with decent Google search results. However, according to Moz my spam score is 43%. I am convinced that something funny is going on to give me this spam score. I have gone though all 27 factors that play into the spam score in great detail. I only fail a few of the checks. These are the Double Click Tag, LinkedIn profile, phone number, email, and Facebook Pixel. Which as far as I know, literally zero travel blog websites provide this info. So I am on par with evert other travel blog website. Now I know Moz will say this "doesn't mean your website is spam, just that our algorithm found that websites with similar attributes are spam." But this is completely bogus. All similar websites to mine have spam scores of 1-2%. All other websites I see with spam scores over 40% are literally spam websites. Why am I literally the only legitimate travel blog site that has a spam score over 40%? My backlink profile is similar to all other travel blogs. I actually have less spammy links as most, as I haven't been around too long. So I don't think my backlinks are causing the high spam score. The only thing I can think of is that my domain name used to be owned by someone else. I have a lot of backlinks from a random blog website that were discovered in 2018, three years before I bought the domain. Is it possible that the domain used to be an actual spam site name and I am now being punished for that? If not, then I cannot think of anything that would cause my high spam score other than fundamental defects in the Moz spam score algorithm. Something is going on, and I'd love someone from Moz to actually be able to have a look at my website and tell me why I have such a high spam score. I know Google doesn't care about Moz's spam score (thankfully) but other websites don't want links from me due to my completely bogus spam score. Thanks everyone

  • html header h1 h2 h3

Is it ok to have no h2 tags? There are no "keywords" relevant to the product in these example h2 tags. Also, is it ok to not have a PRODUCT DESCRIPTION header, or is it better with that header? It's for a "product page". Examples: <h1>Used Bow Front Desk With Mahogany Laminate</h1> <h2 style="display:inline;">QTY:</h2> 3 - <h2 style="display:inline;">Manufacturer:</h2> Hon <h2>Product Description:</h2> <p>This bow front desk is in excellent condition. It has a beautiful mahogany laminate.</p> OR (no h2 tags or product description header at all) <h1>Used Bow Front Desk With Mahogany Laminate</h1> <p>QTY: 3 - Manufacturer: Hon</p> <p>This bow front desk is in excellent condition. It has a beautiful mahogany laminate.</p> I prefer the last one as it's much simpler, but I'm curious if search engines would prefer the existence of h2 tags in the first version. Thanks,
    Todd

Hi All Thank you in advance for any help. Previously we were sending all keyword traffic to our homepage, targeting the main keyword garden rooms plus the seed keywords eg garden studios, garden offices etc. We created 8 new pages, 4 for each main seed keyword and location and these went live on May 12th. The pages are indexed by google. The issue is that all searches, except for garden annex brighton, are still pointing to the homepage and not the new location/service pages and now we're on July 27th it seems enough time has gone by. We've setup this post to ask the question, what can we do to reinforce to google that we want the services pages listed in SERPS and not the homepage? Here is the list of new pages : - garden offices brighton garden offices sussex garden gyms brighton garden gyms sussex garden annexes brighton garden annexes sussex garden studios brighton garden studios sussex Many Thanks

  • canonical duplicate site structure url issue

Dear all, We have two URLs: The main URL which is crawled both by GSC and where Moz assigns our keywords is: https://andipaeditions.com/banksy/ The second one is called a virtual url by our developpers: https://andipaeditions.com/banksy/signedandunsignedprintsforsale/ This is currently not indexed by Google. We have been linking to the second URL and I am unable to see if this is passing juice/anything on to the main one /banksy/ Is it a canonical? The /banksy/ is the one that is being picked up in serps/by Moz and worry that the two similar URLs are splitting the signal. Should I redirect from the second to the first? Thank you

    ecommerce noindex shopify indexed urls

Hello everyone, I am very new to SEO and I wanted to get some input & second opinions on a workaround I am planning to implement on our Shopify store. Any suggestions, thoughts, or insight you have are welcome & appreciated! For those who aren't aware, Shopify as a platform doesn't allow us to send a 410 Gone Code/Error under any circumstance. When you delete or archive a product/page, it becomes unavailable on the storefront. Unfortunately, the only thing Shopify natively allows me to do is set up a 301 redirect. So when we are forced to discontinue a product, customers currently get a 404 error when trying to go to that old URL. My planned workaround is to automatically detect when a product has been discontinued and add the NoIndex meta tag to the product page. The product page will stay up but be unavailable for purchase. I am also adjusting the LD+JSON to list the products availability as Discontinued instead of InStock/OutOfStock.
Then I let the page sit for a few months so that crawlers have a chance to recrawl and remove the page from their indexes. I think that is how that works?
Once 3 or 6 months have passed, I plan on archiving the product followed by setting up a 301 redirect pointing to our internal search results page. The redirect will send the to search with a query aimed towards similar products. That should prevent people with open tabs, bookmarks and direct links to that page from receiving a 404 error. I do have Google Search Console setup and integrated with our site, but manually telling google to remove a page obviously only impacts their index. Will this work the way I think it will?
Will search engines remove the page from their indexes if I add the NoIndex meta tag after they have already been index?
Is there a better way I should implement this? P.S. For those wondering why I am not disallowing the page URL to the Robots.txt, Shopify won't allow me to call collection or product data from within the template that assembles the Robots.txt. So I can't automatically add product URLs to the list.
