Directories

This guide outlines which directories your location data will be submitted to based on your Moz Local subscription level. It also notes how to monitor location information distribution in the Moz Local Directories tab. To check the progress of partner distribution, head to the Directories tab in Moz Local. There, you’ll see the status of your location synchronization across our partner ecosystem and connected platforms, Facebook and Google.

Please note: to ensure the highest acceptance rate of your location data, be sure to follow Google’s listing guidelines.

After the initial purchase of your location(s), the data entered will go through a variety of steps before the information is published on our partner directories.

1. Pre-sync check - The system scans the directories within our distribution network to see whether or not a listing for this location already exists. This process takes up to 5 working days.

2. Data Cleansing - This includes a manual process of checking, validating & optimizing the profile details of a business location to ensure the fastest publication rates. This process takes around 3 weeks.

3. Submission - Once all checks are complete, the location is queued for submission to the directory (either by flat-file or API). Some checks can occur quickly where data is submitted within days. You will still see cleansing status in progress until we are able to submit to the final directory.

4. Internal review by directory - Once a directory receives the submitted data, the directory will perform their own internal reviews before publication. The time frame for this step varies by directory.

For newly purchased locations, please allow around 4 weeks for all the above processes to complete. For locations which you have updated in Moz Local, please allow around 2-3 weeks for those updates to process.

Lite, Preferred, and Elite

If you are purchasing a Moz Local subscription after September 16, 2020 the following directories will be included based on your selected subscription package.

*Includes submission to voice search directories as follows - Google Assistant (Google Search), Siri (Apple Maps), Alexa (Amazon) and Microsoft Cortana (Bing)

**Preferred and Elite Plans for US locations have the option to purchase additional aggregators as an add-on to their subscription plan. This add-on will incur an additional annual charge on top of the price of the selected plan. Please see the Moz Local pricing page for more information.

If you have purchased a Moz Local location prior to September 16, 2020 the following directories will be included based on your selected subscription package.

If you have purchased a Moz Local location prior to September 16, 2020 the following directories will be included based on your selected subscription package.

If you are managing a Service Area Business through Moz Local, this will impact the directories we are able to push your data to. Please see our Service Area Business page for more information including supported directories.

Submission to the following voice search directories is included, by default, in your Moz Local subscription.

• Google Assistant (via Google Search)

• Siri (via Apple Maps)

• Alexa (via Amazon)

• Microsoft Cortana (via Bing)

Please note: Bing submission is not included in UK location packages.

The All Listings table will list all the directories included in your subscription plan along with their Status and the Type of directory they are. This table includes the following information:

B. Ecosystem Network – Some of your listings have a network of affiliated directories or platforms. These platforms show your business to customers in niche markets. Affiliated platforms/directories will be listed in this column.

C. Status – The current status of your listing with this publisher.

• Synced – Listings are in sync and verified. This means that all details are in sync with the publisher and regularly checked for accuracy.

• Submitted – Listings where your latest information has been successfully submitted. However, it is not possible to confirm in real-time as these publishers do not have online verification available (e.g. car navigation systems).

• Updating – Data is being continuously submitted to the platform to get your listing updated.

• Action Required – The listing requires your attention. This may mean you need to connect your account (as with Facebook and Google), mandatory information is missing from your profile, or your listing on this platform is already claimed by another party.

D. Type – The category or listing this platform or directory falls into.

E. Expand – Click the arrows to expand this listing and see more information about the directory.

F. Visit Listing – Where applicable, click the Visit button to see your live listing on the directory platform itself. Please note: not all listings have or offer online listing verification.

G. Additional Directories – If there are additional directories in the ecosystem network for a platform that aren’t visible, this will be indicated with a Plus Number. Click the number to see what additional directories are included in this network.

Clicking anywhere on the All Listings table or the Expand (arrows) in the last column will open up a window to learn more about the platform and (where applicable) its ecosystem network.
